Grand Game of Thrones Tour is an extensive tour all over the region, encompassing the Klis Fortress, nearby Kaštel Gomilica followed by a trip to the town of Žrnovnica and finally arriving back to Split city center – Diocletian’s Palace. We start with the historical Klis Fortress that gained world fame due to the Game of Thrones TV series. The fortress was the filming location and represented the city of Meereen. Take a stroll trough Meereen that Khaleesi conquered with her army of the Unsullied.

The real fortress has an equally rich story of its own. The impressive stronghold was built on the peak of a very steep cliff and served as a royal castle and seat of many Croatian kings. After Klis we visit the coastal Kaštel Gomilica to see the filming locations there. During the 16th century the Split nobility erected impressive mansions in Kaštela, Kaštel Gomilica is one of the 7 Kaštela. Afterwards we continue to the town of Žrnovnica where we visit the watermill Game of Thrones set with an optional lunch from a traditional Dalmatian old oven, a masonry fireplace with an iron lid. Afterwards we continue to Split where we finish the tour visiting the filming locations in the city centre. Our Game of Thrones expert guide will take you trough the Diocletian’s Basement to relive Khaleesi’s journey during season 3.
