The meeting point is at our Sirena office (Manuška poljana 18, as seen on the map bellow). During the 3 – 4 hour long walking tour you will get to know more about the most important historical sights (the old city centre –Diocletian’s Palace in which there are worldwide famous historical monuments: as the part of the tour we will visit the Cathedral of St. Domnius (St. Duje), the Temple of Jupiter and the Basement of Diocletian’s Palace). After visiting the historically famous Diocletian’s Palace, we will take you to our traditional Open market (fish market and green market).

At the fish market of Split, popularly called “Splitska peškarija“ (word derives from the Italian word Pescheria meaning fishmarket), you will be able to see all the blessings we have been offered by the Adriatic sea. There you may choose and buy some fresh fish and prepare it in the traditional way as it is i.e. the famous brujet (fish stew), buzara and “crni rižot” (rissoto prepared with the black of cuttlefish). The tasty dishes prepared in such a traditional manner are also offered by many city restaurants (Tourist guide recommendation for a good restaurant). Widely known is also the Green market “Splitski Pazar“ where you can buy some fresh home grown vegetables and fruits as well as different kinds of cheese and homemade meat products… Get to know better the mentality of the inhabitants of Split and feel as being part of the city of Split and its interesting everyday life. Upon agreement with a tourist guide, you can make a coffee break in one of the local cafeterias.
