NP Krka was proclaimed a National Park in 1985. as one of seven national parks in Croatia and on its own the National Park encompasses the area of 109km2. The Krka river springs 3,5km northeast of the city of Knin and it is 73km long.

The Krka river is considered a natural and karst phenomenon. In Krka National Park there are more than 800 species of plants, 222 species of birds, 18 species of bats… briefly, it is a habitat characterized by an exceptionally rich flora and fauna.NP Krka & Šibenik tour starts from Strossmayer park (park is north above the Diocletian palace). Drive back along the Adriatic coast with a view at a beautiful coastal scenery (countless beaches, small islands, villages, fish farms… ) all the way to Split.
